Did you know that in Studio Ghibli’s 1988 film ‘Grave of the Fireflies’, Setsuko’s tin of fruit drops she is seen eating throughout the film, actually exist as a real product?
Sakuma Drops were first produced in 1908 and had their popularity rekindled most likely due to the film.They remain as perhaps one of the oldest Japanese candies still in production today.
